Dog Boarding & Training

Want someone to take your dog or puppy and train him because you’re too busy or going on vacation? Combining dog training with boarding is a solution that works for some, but is not advised for all situations. Your dog will live in Jill’s home, not a kennel, for one month. Training your dog begins each morning with a romp on a trail or at the dog park, and proceeds through the day where he is lavished with love and attention, in a balanced program of rest, play and training. Your pride and joy will be socialized with all kinds of animals and people, and learn good manners no matter where he is—at home, picking the kids up from school, in a restaurant or café, or at a playground surrounded by exuberant children. You dog will be housebroken, learn not to be destructive, not to jump on people and furniture, and even practice mealtime manners.

Jill deliberately trains dogs in a wide variety of settings so they become well adjusted and a joy to be around, all the time. If you have a specific need, for example, your dog needs to be safe around toddlers, or at ease in a workplace environment, Jill will train your dog to handle that situation as well. All dogs learn obedience commands, both on- and off-leash, and do them with enthusiasm and pleasure. In fact, upon completion of a one-month training program, your puppy or dog will be able to pass the Therapy Dog Test. Dog Board and Train is available to only one dog at a time: your dog, with one of the nation’s most highly regarded personal dog trainers.

The final component of your dog’s board and train program takes place when he or she returns home. This transitional period, when you and your family take over the training, is critical to achieving your training goals—in fact, the board and train program works only when you are fully commited to your dog’s ongoing training. Jill will coach you—step by step—in the essential leadership skills needed to lock in success with your dog. Her commitment to you both is for the life of your relationship.
